Our experience for medium-to-larger energy users is that when you prepare an energy audit, energy cost savings can be significant.
Benefits of an energy audit as per the Australian Standard with Websters Group include:
Access to world-leading expertise in energy efficiency
Address strategic risks, fix problem areas and identify inefficiency
Achieve deep reductions in energy usage (target 30% to 50%)
Improved gross margins through significantly lower energy costs
Our audits use portable smart metering and data logging extensively to bring
engineering models together with real world data.
Ultrasonic flow metering equipment is used to provide quick and accurate measurements of liquid flow rates. This equipment attaches straight to the pipe and eliminates the need to install or rely on existing water meters that are often inaccurate. This is also useful for quickly measuring other liquid flow rates i.e. within food manufacturing.
Given electrical energy is often lost as heat, thermal imaging is an important part of the site review process. Identification of air flows, pipe insulation and cold storage operations are a few important applications.
Understanding power drawn from various areas and pieces of equipment is key to understanding peak demand charges. We use licensed electricians to review each major electrical load in the distribution or main switch board(s). Breaking down site usage to this level helps unlock really important facts about peak demand charges at your site.
Once we have obtained these detailed measurements, we breakdown energy use and costs by area or equipment type in an Energy End Use Breakdown.
An energy audit will generally pay for itself many times over through identification of low and no cost energy saving opportunities. Larger capital items can also be included that have long term cost savings and maintenance benefits.
An example of the financial savings from an energy audit and subsequent upgrades are below (based on an average from three audits in 2020).

All our Type Level 2 & 3 energy audits are as per the Australian Standard (AS/NZS 3598.2:2014)
If you are interested in reviewing savings and thinking about getting an energy audit, we conduct routine site visits within 250km of Brisbane at no cost
(without a sales obligation) to see if there is the right chemistry, and if the savings will be high enough to guarantee value for money.
